GHST Distribution Update — Private sale has sold out
Thank you to all of the participants of the Private Sale. All were based and upstanding Aagents of the Aavegotchi Discord server.
The Pre-sale round of GHST distribution will commence shortly. A total of 500K GHST will be distributed, at a price of 0.1 DAI / each. Immediately after the Pre-Sale closes, the Bonding Curve will open and new GHST will be issued, according to the Bancor bonding curve formula.
(Wanna learn about bonding curves? This post discusses the mechanics in loving detail.)
Official Aavegotchi Whitepaper is released
The Whitepaper release is the culmination of months of brainstorming and ideation. Although it is released, it is still a living document, and details within may change before Mainnet launch.
View the Whitepaper here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/186zOapKeHNNJ9y8LIByQQ64rs0eJUlEF/edit#heading=h.gjdgxs
(Just like the Litepaper, you can add comments, so dive in and add some comments in your favorite sections).
Aavegotchi Aagents is over 150 members strong! 💪
Thanks to the power of memetic magic and relentless shilling, the Aavegotchi Aagent Aarmy has grown to more than 150 members.
Our Aapprentices are working tirelessly in the Discord server to ensure Aagents get credited for their Mission Aaccomplished in a timely manner. Thank you to all our @aapprentices and to JC, our Community Manager. :salutepepe:
Below is a cozy infographic detailing the Aaccomplishments of our Aavegotchi Aagents of Aavesome:

Speaking of Missions…
This Week’s Mission: Based and Brightest
A key skill for any aspiring Aavegotchi Aagent is the ability to shill Aavegotchi relentlessly, no matter the circumstance.
In line at Starbucks? Shill it
Blazin with your homies? Shill it
Zoom-bombing? Shill it bruh
For this Mission, we’re asking you to flex your shillskills and take Aavegotchi to the skies. That’s right…it’s time to shill cryptotwitter.
This week’s Mission, if you choose to accept it:
- Thoroughly peruse the newly-released Aavegotchi Whitepaper. Master the blade.
- Retweet+comment this tweet by @aavegotchi. Comment your favorite line from the Whitepaper, or get creative and shill Aavegotchi in your own spicy words.
- @ or mention ② other Twitter accounts in your RT .
- Post a screenshot of your retweet in the #mission-report4🐦 channel to claim your Aagent Level Up.
Good luck, Aavegotchi Aagent!
(This message will not self-destruct in thirty seconds!)

ALPHA LEAK: Three limited edition Aagent Earpieces
What’s that? A giveaway?
You didn’t think we’d let you shill for nothing, right?
Our three fav tweetshills will each receive a limited edition Aagent Earpiece — one of the components of the exclusive Aagent Wearables Set. (You’ll get another one in the full set if you complete ALL the Missions). Winners announced in the next Community Update. (You’ll receive your wearable when Aavegotchi launches on Mainnet).
Aavegotchi Dev Update — Hand-optimized SVGs
Our Solidity Lead Nick Mudge has been experimenting with storing SVG files on the blockchain to ensure Aavegotchis will persist on the blockchain for millenia to come. To keep costs low, we ran each SVG file through an optimizer to ensure the smallest file size.
All was going well until we encountered this background image:
This particular image did not fare well with machine optimization. The final size after optimization was 21KB. Each kb of size costs roughly 640,000 gas to store on the Ethereum blockchain. At 21KB, that’d be 12,800,000 gas, or hundreds of dollars at current gas prices to store a background image.
Human to the rescue
Luckily, besides coding amazing smart contract standards, Nick has another superpower — hand-optimizing SVG files.
He took a close look at the SVG file and discovered many repeating patterns within it, something a normal machine-optimizer cannot do (except maybe GPT-3…?)
Hours later, he triumphantly announced he’d reduced it from 21KB to 1.28KB, potentially saving thousands of dollars in storage fees for all of the Aavegotchi backgrounds.
That’s it for this week’s community update!
Stay spooky fam,
