Aavegotchi Confirms Launch on Matic Network
Singapore, January 6, 2021 — Aavegotchi, the DeFi-staked сrypto сollectibles game, has teamed up with blockchain scalability platform Matic Network to facilitate on-chain gameplay. As part of the new partnership, Aavegotchi has committed to launching its blockchain game first on Matic Network.
Developed by Pixelcraft Studios and governed by a community DAO, Aavegotchi is a game revolving around DeFi-backed Aavegotchis — on-chain collectible ghosts staked with Aave’s interest-generating aTokens. These yield-generating collectibles offer unique traits and a new system of “dynamic rarity” that allows players to increase the rarity of their Aavegotchi by equipping items and leveling up. This on-going process of incentives to play is what makes Aavegotchi the most innovative mash-up of DeFi and NFTs in development today.
Matic Network is a Layer 2 solution that largely fixes Ethereum’s scalability issue via an adapted version of Plasma with PoS-based side chains. Integrating will help Aavegotchi users to enjoy near zero transaction fees and faster settlement times. Matic has been quickly establishing itself as the home for NFTs and blockchain gaming with a full spectrum of products including not only premier games but also the marketplaces and decentralized exchanges that are also needed.
Users familiar with Ethereum benefit from Matic’s familiar experience. Popular wallets like MetaMask can interact with both Ethereum and Matic so there is no friction in this critical respect.

Launching Aavegotchi on Matic Network eliminates the costs typically associated with blockchain experiences.

Matic-ready versions of the GHST staking contracts are already under development and will be unveiled in the coming weeks, offering potential rewards for early adopters looking to bridge their GHST tokens from Ethereum mainnet over to Matic network.
Additionally, there will be a number of exclusive game items that can only be won via the next Aavegotchi Raffle event happening exclusively on Matic Network.
