Hello frens! 2021 is halfway over, and we have to say, June was the biggest month ever for Aavegotchi!

In just thirty short days, we:

Concluded Rarity Farming Season 1
Launched Aambassador Program V2
Revealed The Gotchiverse REALM Litepaper
Shipped many new features to the Aavegotchi Dapp
Experienced Community Made Mini-Games

Rarity Farming Season 1 Concludes With 1.4 Million GHST Distributed to Over 6500 Aavegotchis Total!

Rarity Farming is the “metagame” of Aavegotchi, where Aavegotchis compete in Rarity, Kinship, and XP categories to earn GHST token, the eco-governance token of the Aavegotchi ecosystem.

The first Season of Rarity Farming lasted eight weeks, and distributed 1.4M GHST directly into the pockets of participating Aavegotchis!

Here’s a breakdown of how this season went down:

Total Rewards: 1.4 Million GHST
Season Structure: 8 weeks divided into 4 rounds
Competition categories: Rarity / Kinship / XP
Goal: Climb the leaderboards for on-chain snapshots
Looooong tail: Top 5000 gotchis farm each category

Aavegotchi Aambassador Program V2

Aambassador Program V2 launched with over 600 signups in the first week! We’ve already focused on localizing Aavegotchi into regions including China, Vietnam, France, Russia, Philippines, Korea and more with the goal of ensuring that local communities are kept in the loop on important developments.

With all of the activity happening with Aavegotchi recently, we have recognized the need for an Aavegotchi Aambassadors Program V2 to focus on smaller, more intimate and personalized communities focused on specific niches. We invite you to join!

Aavegotchi REALM Litepaper Release

200+ frens joined us for the Gotchiverse REALM Litepaper release on our first Twitter Spaces event June 23rd. With a new #Share2Earn campaign, we offered frens the ability to earn Drop Tickets for our upcoming Haunt 2 and REALM NFT raffles, just by sharing Aavegotchi with your frens!

Unfortunately, the program was quickly targeted by airdrop groups that shared the answers with their community members. We are currently working to increase the security of the program, and will re-open it as soon as those measures are implemented.

AavegotchiDAO Votes

AavegotchiDAO has made history as the first DAO to allocate voting power based on the dynamic traits of an NFT by passing both AGIP8 and AGIP9 Core Proposals! But that’s not all, AGIP10 has also been passed!

AGIP8-9 Proposal Synopsis: Give Voting Power to Aavegotchis based on BRS, and Wearables based on Maall Price.

Details: These Proposals endow voting power to Aavegotchis based on their BRS, and Wearables based on the Maall price.

Result: PASSED to empower Aavegotchi NFTs and wearables with voting power.

AGIP10 Proposal Synopsis: Co-fund partnership between Aavegotchi, Pixelcraft Studios, and DinoSwap.

Details: The terms include a total of 200k USD worth of GHST tokens to be allocated to their incentivized “extinction pools.” Pixelcraft Studios and AavegotchiDAO will each contribute 100k USD worth of GHST to partner with DinoSwap during their launch window. For the $200,000 of GHST tokens provided, DinoSwap will be providing approximately $2,000,000 in DINO rewards over a 3 month period to stkGHST-WETH LPs on QuickSwap.

Result: PASSED to fund 100k USD of GHST for DinoSwap launch rewards

Pixelcraft Studios Dev Highlights

Language support added (Chinese, Russian, Spanish)

This month, we translated the Aavegotchi UI into English, Chinese Simplified, Russian, Spanish, and Vietnamese. Localization is a WIP, so there may be some areas that have not been translated yet. If you’d like to get involved as a translator, specifically for translating the UI, you can contact @TadasAnd in our Discord server!

To use Aavegotchi in your language (if it hasn’t been changed by default) just head to https://aavegotchi.com/settings and click the flag.

Improved dapp stability by adding a second independently hosted subgraph instance

A subgraph is a critical piece of infrastructure that allows dapps like Aavegotchi to query information from the blockchain flexibly and at scale.

Graph Protocol has an amazing hosted service that hosts our subgraph on Polygon, but ever since Polygon started gaining traction, the Graph team has faced technical challenges in scaling its service.

In June, we made the decision to setup a self-hosted subgraph, and have been using it successfully as a “backup” for when the Graph hosted service gets spotty. This has greatly improved the stability of Aavegotchi, even during times of heavy traffic on Polygon.

Community Made Mini-Games Bloom

The Aavegotchi Aarchitects are our community builders, and in June they were hard at work buidling services and games for the Gotchiconomy!

In June, we saw four new games added to the Gotchi minigame repertoire, and whitelisted for XP rewards:

Pixelcraft Studios Team is Expanding

Pixelcraft Studios, the core team building Aavegotchi, has been growing! Since the first Aavegotchi was summoned, we have engaged in a major hiring campaign for a number of key positions. New positions added to the team:
